Nuclear power: Books

The Fissile Society

In the 1970s nuclear proponents declared that the choice lay between nuclear power and 'drastic changes in lifestyle'. The Fissile Society: Energy, Electricity and the Nuclear Option, published by Earth Resources Research, explored the changes in lifestyle, and in human society, that might accompany increased dependence on nuclear power and the grid electricity it necessitates.

The Fissile Society appeared in 1977. Surely so much has changed already that a commentary nearly four decades old must be long out of date...?

What do you think? You can find The Fissile Society here. (The version on this site before January 2010 was inadvertently incomplete; this is now the complete, corrected version.)
